英语习语是一种固定的结构,是在英语语言长期发展过程中逐渐形成的,具有稳定性强,不能随意更动的特点.习语的成分,甚至次序是不可以更改的,只是使用统一语言的人们的共同认识形式和共同理解的内容.但是,随着对习语研究的深入,人们发现,在言语实践中习语并非绝对的一成不变,在许多具体的运用中习语是可以变化的,而且同一个习语甚至有多种变化形式,变化了的形式或用法并不影响对句意的理解,相反,还增加了新的内容,新的修辞色彩.在言语的交际中,我们不能囿于词语组合的老套陈规,而应致力于探索新途径,使寻常的固有词汇,材料通过在待定环境中进行巧妙调配,获得新的搭配与组合,从而提高语言表达效果.习语的活用就是其中一很好的避旧就新的语言运用技巧,它可以突出作者要表达的意图,表达鲜明思想,并且还可以通过程度递进,增强语气等的烘托,渲染气氛,达到夸张,幽默, 讽刺,挖苦等语言效果.因此,对习语活用研究不仅有助于阅读理解,对写作与翻译也大有益处.英语习语的语用创新是人们对英语习语不断进行创造性使用的结果,大量习语创新性的使用又进一步加深了人们对习语的认知和运用.英语习语的活用需要良好的语言素养,使其顺手捡来,成乎于有意无意之间,决不可勉强而为之.这种语言现象虽运用广泛,但在一般辞书中很少提及,综合所收集的材料和例句,笔者认为其活用手段主要有7个方面:词的Extension,Replacement,Interception,Refinement of words,合并与拆分,Changes of structures.例证了英语习语活用现象在具体语境中的运用和意义.

The English 习 language is a kind of structure for fixing, is a gradual formation in English the language the long-term the development the process, have a stability strong, can't change at will of characteristics.The composition of 习 language, even the order of sequence can't change, Be just usage to unify phonetic people of common understanding form and common comprehension of contents. But, along with to going deep into of 习 language research, people discover, the 习 language isn't absolute in the speech the fulfillment fixed and unchangealbe, the 习 language can change in many concrete usages, and the same of 习 language even have various variety forms, form or method of using for changing don't influence the comprehension of[with] distich idea, contrary, also increase a new contents, new rhetoric color. In the social intercourse of speech, we can't be constrained by the same old things Chen's rules that the phrase language combines, but should concentrate on investigating new path, making the usually proper vocabulary, material pass to carry on a skillful dispensation in treat settle the environment, acquiring to match lately with combination, raise language expression result thus.习 Language's living to use is among them a good avoid old new langua
